HOLDING INNER EXPERIENCE

Sometimes, containment means staying gently with what is here: numbness, feeling stuck, helplessness, exhaustion, or emotions we cannot yet name.

In that quiet space, the wounded inner child may begin to meet curiosity. We may discover that we need something different from what others expect:

“Could you hold off on the comforting embrace for a moment? I want to feel what is happening inside me, before I try to think my way through it.”

Then words may slowly come:

I feel. I think. I am.

Grief has room to breathe. Righteous indignation finds its voice. A deeper sense of self begins to emerge: I am good enough as I am.

Pause. Remember how that feels.

I see. I hear. I taste. I smell. I touch. I am here.

Even in the eye of the storm, I can be present with my lived experience. I can hold what I feel—and find my way back to me.
