STRANGERS

Matthew 25:35
I was a stranger, and ye took me in.

Yesterday, I sat on a bench to rest. A stranger sat nearby. We began talking about how we cope with life—and left as friends.

I remembered Giordano’s World Without Strangers. Then I thought of Anthony Chen’s We Are All Strangers, the Singapore film that reached Berlin’s main competition and was chosen as our Oscar submission.

The titles stayed with me because loneliness can find us even in a crowd. We may pass one another every day without truly seeing anyone.

Scripture invites us closer. Remember what it felt like to be an outsider. Love the stranger as yourself. Make room at the table. Jesus said, “I was a stranger, and ye took me in.” — Matthew 25:35, KJV

And as we welcome others, let us also draw near to Him. Jesus’ words, “I never knew you,” remind me that faith calls for a living relationship with Him, expressed in how we live.

We are pilgrims on this earth, walking toward God’s promised home. Along the way, a little time, a listening ear and an open heart can turn a stranger into a neighbour.

May we know Jesus—and make room for those He places beside us.

Happy pilgrim’s progress! 💛
